    Description

This Year 7 course lays a solid foundation in mathematics through a mastery-based programme designed to build fluency, reasoning, and confidence. It revisits key KS2 concepts (like place value, fractions, decimals) and introduces new topics in algebra, geometry, ratio, statistics, and probability—fully preparing students for further study in KS4 and IGCSE Mathematics.

    Course Content:

The programme is organised into themed units that follow a spiral curriculum, reinforcing prior learning while introducing new concepts.

    • Number & Ratio: Place value; negative numbers; four operations with integers, decimals, and fractions; rounding; percentages; ratio and proportion.
    • Algebra: Introduction to algebraic notation; simplifying linear expressions; substitution; solving simple equations; sequences; graphing linear and non-linear relationships.
    • Geometry & Measures: Properties of shapes; angle facts; constructions; area, perimeter, and volume; symmetry and transformations (reflection, rotation, etc.).
    • Statistics & Probability: Gathering data; charts (bar, pie, line); calculating averages and range; basic probability and sample space diagrams.

This Year 7 mathematics programme from Pearson Edexcel ensures learners develop essential numeracy and algebraic skills through a sequenced and supportive pathway. With a balance of arithmetic, geometry, data handling, and proportional reasoning, the course builds mathematical fluency, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability. Delivered via differentiated units with formative checks and reflection opportunities, it gives every student the confidence and competence to succeed in KS4 mathematics and beyond.

Cost: £1200 per year, payable in 10 monthly instalments of £120.00.
